Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 16th September 2024 Written Update
The episode begins with everyone joyfully dancing to *Aai Shubh Ghadi*. Manish watches the scene, smiling as he reminisces about Kartik-Naira and Abhi-Akshu. He helps Abhira sit on the swing. Meanwhile, Ruhi, feeling troubled, retrieves the reports and is visibly shocked by what she reads. Determined, she thinks, “I have to tell the truth.” As Abhira gets her mehendi applied, Ruhi decides that Dadi should know the matter and quickly pulls Armaan aside, telling him it’s urgent. Abhira notices them leaving.
Armaan, concerned, asks Ruhi what’s so important. She hesitates, then an elderly man selling toys interrupts, offering Armaan some baby toys. Smiling, Armaan buys them. Meanwhile, Abhira, noticing their absence, asks Charu to call Armaan. Charu tries calling, but Aryan says Armaan had given him his phone for safekeeping. Charu attempts to call Ruhi, but Ruhi signals her not to.
Ruhi struggles with how to break the news to Armaan, realizing the toys he’s just bought won’t be of any use. She eventually stops him, determined to reveal the truth. Meanwhile, Vidya anxiously searches for the missing reports, asking the servant, who confirms that he had left them on the table. Manish tries to calm her down, but the tension grows. Kiara mentions that Armaan and Ruhi had gone to the temple. Krish and others try to cover up the situation by making excuses. Abhira, worried about what Ruhi might be up to, decides to go after them, asking the family to handle the situation at home.
Ruhi finally tells Armaan, “Abhira can never conceive.” Shocked, Armaan drops the toys he had just bought, refusing to believe her. Ruhi hands him the reports, but he insists it’s a lie. He calls the doctor using Ruhi’s phone, and the doctor confirms the devastating news — Abhira cannot conceive, and any attempt to do so could endanger her life. Armaan is heartbroken, his dreams shattered.
At home, Manisha starts getting suspicious about Abhira’s whereabouts, but the others continue to make excuses. Charu and Krish try to keep her calm.
Armaan, distressed, tells Ruhi that this revelation could stop his marriage to Abhira, fearing that Dadi and Sanjay will blame her for everything. Ruhi tries to get him to think about himself, saying, “You’ve made so many sacrifices. Will you let this dream of having a baby slip away too?” She pushes him to consider his options. Armaan, however, tells Ruhi not to mention any of this to Abhira.
Just then, Abhira arrives, sensing something off. “What are you both talking about?” she asks. She confronts Armaan, questioning why he left their mehendi ceremony with Ruhi. Ruhi hastily hides the reports. Armaan, stumbling over his words, says, “It’s just some legal papers.” Abhira, growing suspicious, accuses him of lying for Ruhi. “You want us to fight because of her,” she says. Armaan assures her, “You trust me, right?” Abhira responds, “Yes, but I don’t trust her.”
Abhira demands that Ruhi show her the papers, but Ruhi pushes her away in panic. Armaan catches Abhira, and she tells him she knows Ruhi has the reports. He pleads with Abhira not to look at them yet, promising, “I’ll tell you everything at the right time. Can you wait?” Abhira, showing her faith in him, says, “I can wait my entire life.”
They share a heartfelt hug, though their broken toy reminds them of the broken dreams. As they return home, Dadi, sensing something is off, asks Armaan about the report.
