Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 13th September 2024 Written Update
The episode begins with Manish asking how they could cancel the sangeet. He reassures Abhira, saying not to worry as he’s there for her. Dadi, however, says while she understands his love for Abhira, they need to be practical, warning against giving her false hope, as it seems impossible to go ahead with the event. Vidya, determined, says they will make it happen, and Manisha adds that they can’t give up, especially since the rain is slowing down. Vidya notices a dhaba nearby and suggests they hold the sangeet there and invite the relatives. Dadi questions whether they should really have the sangeet at a dhaba, but Manish assures her that the venue isn’t what’s important—family is. Armaan and Abhira smile at this, though Ruhi watches from a distance, quietly observing.
Abhira waits anxiously for Armaan, while Madhav and Vidya try to convince the dhaba owner to let them host their children’s sangeet there. The owner hesitates, saying they won’t be able to arrange lights for the event. Vidya insists that they’ll manage, but the owner still declines. Meanwhile, Sanjay remarks that Abhira’s wishes always seem to dictate their actions. Ruhi, still distant, questions what difference it will make even if the owner agrees.
Suddenly, Abhira starts feeling stomach pain and feels lightheaded but brushes it off, noting that the pain subsided as quickly as it came. She mentions that the dhaba owner still isn’t agreeing to help her parents, and goes to intervene. Dadi steps forward instead, speaking to the owner in Punjabi, explaining that she was born and raised in Amritsar and that it’s her grandson’s wedding. She asks if they can have the function there with his permission. The dhaba owner, surprised and pleased, agrees, saying the function can definitely take place at the dhaba. Abhira, taken aback, says her Dadi is full of surprises. Dadi jokes, saying she enjoys giving everyone a shock.
Manoj and Manisha return with outfits, saying they’ve brought freshly washed clothes from a dance troupe and that the sangeet will be done in a full Punjabi style. Abhira, touched, hugs her in gratitude.
The family gets dressed in traditional Punjabi attire. Abhira beams with happiness as she looks at the lights and decorations transforming the dhaba. She thanks Vidya, Madhav, and Manish for making it possible, hugging them warmly. Manish asks if she’s happy, to which she replies, “The happiest.” Guests start arriving, and Abhira eagerly asks about Armaan. Vidya points him out, saying he’s over there. Armaan enters, and Abhira is pleasantly surprised, saying she didn’t know he had a solo act planned. Manisha mentions that Armaan wanted to surprise her. Armaan begins dancing to “Aahun Aahun,” and Abhira joins him, dancing happily. Ruhi watches from the sidelines, feeling increasingly isolated.
Rohit notices Ruhi and asks if she’s feeling unwell. He hands her medicine, telling her it will help her feel better. Meanwhile, the crowd applauds the dance performances. Ruhi quietly goes to take the medicine, feeling comforted as Suwarna approaches to console her, pulling her into a warm hug. Dadi keeps an eye on Abhira from a distance. Armaan, noticing her thoughts, asks if she’s planning to make Dadi dance. Abhira mischievously says yes, thinking it would be a perfect wedding gift for him. Armaan chuckles, saying it’s impossible, knowing Dadi’s mood. Abhira takes a sip of lassi, and they share a lighthearted moment, with Armaan saying, “You’re mine.” They grow closer, but are interrupted by everyone calling them back to the group.
Krish then announces a game, explaining that the partners will be blindfolded, and whoever they choose will become their dance partner for the evening. The men, blindfolded, fumble as they try to find their partners. Madhav ends up holding Manisha’s hand, Manoj catches Surekha’s, and Sanjay grabs Kajal’s. The crowd bursts into laughter. Krish declares that Sanjay and Kajal will perform first. Though nervous, Kajal asks Sanjay to dance a little. Dadi playfully wards off any negative energy from them as Sanjay breaks into a fun performance, singing and dancing to “Khali Pili Rokne Ka Nahi.”
As the fun continues, Charu jokes about the parents behaving more like kids. Krish agrees with a laugh. Meanwhile, Abhira approaches Rohit for help in convincing Dadi to dance. She pleads, and Rohit, though hesitant, agrees to give it a try. Ruhi, feeling increasingly left out, slips away quietly. Manish follows her, gently reminding her of the happiness of her childhood. Ruhi, however, responds somberly, saying she had her family then, but now she feels utterly alone. She walks away as tears well in her eyes. The episode closes with everyone dancing, while Ruhi watches from afar, a sense of sadness in her gaze.
