Mishri

Mishri 31st August 2024 Written Update

Ranjith menacingly threatens Mishri, warning her that he will send their marriage certificate to Raghav’s family, exposing her true identity as their daughter-in-law. He taunts her, reminding her of her current status as a servant in their household. He questions how they will react when they discover the truth, and what will happen to Vaani. Ranjith then demands that Mishri withdraw her complaint against him, offering her a way out of this mess. Left with no other option, Mishri reluctantly signs the form. Ranjith smirks and leaves, believing he has control over her.

Meanwhile, Vaani grows increasingly worried about Raghav. She notices that he isn’t answering her calls, and to make matters worse, Mishri’s phone is switched off, which is highly unusual. Determined to find out what’s happening, Vaani decides to take matters into her own hands. Kalpana tries to dismiss her concerns, telling her that Mishri is just a servant, but Vaani is not convinced and insists on checking on her.

Later, Mishri overhears a discussion about violence against women and how society often views girls as weak. As she reflects on this, she witnesses two men on a bike snatch a girl’s dupatta. Without hesitation, Mishri intervenes, chasing the men away. She advises the girl to be more careful in the future, showing her protective nature.

This incident triggers a flood of memories for Mishri—how her aunt tortured her, how her uncle forced her into a marriage she didn’t want, and how Ranjith continuously belittled her simply because she is a woman. These memories ignite a fire within her, making her realize that she is not a coward and she must stand up for herself. Although she initially thought of sparing Ranjith for the sake of Raghav and Vaani, she now understands that he deserves to be punished. Fueled by anger, she sees Ranjith giving a chocolate to a child and, in a fit of rage, she breaks a glass in his hand and attacks him with a bicycle chain. As Ranjith falls to the ground, Mishri tears up the form she had signed earlier. She declares that she had considered letting him go for the sake of others, but she now knows that he deserves to face the consequences of his actions. She condemns him for not respecting women and assuming they are all weak. She continues to attack him, determined to make him pay.

Meanwhile, Vaani arrives at Raghav’s house, frantically searching for Mishri. She confronts the family, accusing them of being indifferent to Mishri’s well-being and treating her as nothing more than a servant. Kalpana tries to call Vaani to stop her from meeting Raghav, but Vaani, fed up, disconnects the call in frustration.

Back at the confrontation, Mishri stands up to Ranjith, telling him that she doesn’t care if her truth is revealed, but she won’t allow him to deceive anyone else. She warns him never to touch another woman again and insists that he deserves to be in jail for his crimes. When Ranjith threatens to send the marriage certificate to her family, Mishri retaliates by attacking him again. In a fit of anger, she throws his phone away and ties him up, determined to expose his true nature. However, Ranjith manages to fight back, headbutting her and then attacking her with a brick, causing Mishri to collapse. Despite the pain, Mishri’s resolve remains unshaken—she is determined to see Ranjith punished.

Back at the house, Vaani is furious and lashes out at Sulekha, who suggests filing a complaint. Vaani dismisses the idea, overwhelmed with concern. As she is about to collapse from the stress, Raghav catches her. He coldly tells her that Mishri has gone far away because she is just a servant. This infuriates Vaani, and she demands to know who gave him the right to send Mishri away. “Who is he to her?” she challenges. At that moment, Mishri walks in, bloodied but resolute, and declares, “He is my husband.”
