Jhanak 8th September 2024 Written Episode
The episode begins with Lalon and Appu exchanging garlands. Dadi reminds Lalon to take good care of Appu, and he reassures her not to worry. Chimli jokes about how they’ll have a lot of fun now that Appu’s around to do the household chores. Appu laughs and agrees. Dadi, still emotional, tells them to proceed to the mandap. Anjana watches with tearful joy, and Bablu asks why she’s crying. She explains that Appu will be leaving their home today. Bablu tries to console her, saying Appu isn’t going far, but Anjana feels the absence already. Bablu reassures her, saying they always knew this day would come and promises Appu will be happy. She admits she had no expectations from Tanuja, but wishes Shubh had shown more love to Appu earlier.
Appu and Lalon sit in the mandap. She asks Jhanak to stay by her side, and Jhanak promises she won’t leave. Appu playfully insists on the promise. Meanwhile, Mimi and Rumi discuss Arshi and Jhanak. Lalon mentions Jhanak must be nearby, and Jhanak remarks that she’s like Appu’s younger sister. Appu jokes, but Dadi reminds her to be quiet. As the ceremony continues, Jhanak and Anirudh exchange glances.
Suddenly, the police arrive. Bablu steps up and asks what’s going on. The inspector demands to see Lalon. Lalon tries to comfort Appu, telling her not to worry, and then approaches the inspector. Everyone is stunned when the inspector declares that Lalon is under arrest. Chimli, shocked, says the marriage hasn’t even finished yet. Just then, Shubh arrives, pretending to be concerned, and asks the inspector for more details. The inspector explains that Lalon is accused of theft in a particular area. Lalon denies any involvement.
Chimli, panicking, calls Anuradha and urgently explains that the police are there to arrest Lalon, asking her to bring Kajal immediately. Jhanak steps in to defend Lalon, but the inspector insists they have an arrest warrant and must do their job. Chimli pleads again for Anuradha to come quickly. Lalon tries to reason with the inspector, saying they have no proof against him, and insists he’s done nothing wrong. Meanwhile, Shrishti taunts the family, asking if they’d still marry their daughter to a thief, which disgusts her. She tells Arshi to leave with her. Arshi, shaken, accuses Lalon of being a thief, but Lalon firmly tells her not to speak without knowing the facts. Anirudh stands by Lalon, insisting he isn’t a criminal. The inspector dismisses the protests, stating that they cannot make assumptions about criminals, and reiterates that they are there to arrest Lalon.
Appu, in tears, insists that Lalon is innocent. Lalon looks directly at Shubh and accuses him of framing him. Shubh, feigning innocence, denies it and says he supports the marriage. Lalon angrily says he’s never been accused of anything before and has always worked with integrity. Just then, Anuradha and Kajal arrive. Anuradha pleads with the inspector not to arrest Lalon, insisting her son is innocent. She explains that his father was a respected lawyer, and although they fell on hard times, Lalon and Chimli were raised well and would never resort to crime. The inspector, unimpressed, says the court will decide Lalon’s fate.
Anjana, heartbroken, asks why Appu has to suffer in this situation. Jhanak steps in again, telling everyone not to accuse Lalon without evidence. Lalon acknowledges that the police have come to arrest him but insists he’s done nothing wrong. Anuradha fiercely defends her son, saying he isn’t a thief, and recounts how her husband’s friends betrayed them, leaving them in this situation. Kajal confronts the inspector, and the neighborhood rallies in support of Lalon, threatening to protest against the police if they proceed. Despite their threats, the inspector reminds them that they are simply following the law.
Appu, heartbroken, takes out the *sindoor* and insists on standing by Lalon’s side. Lalon agrees, and with a heavy heart, fills Appu’s *maang* with the *sindoor*. Anirudh steps forward, demanding more information about the case, but Shubh tries to brush him off, telling him not to get involved. Anirudh refuses to back down, claiming he has a right to know. Tanuja reassures them that the police will release Lalon. Meanwhile, Anirudh tells Arshi she’s free to leave with her mother if she wants, but he’s staying to see this through.
Appu, worried, asks if the police will hurt Lalon. Choton steps in, reminding everyone that accusations don’t make someone a criminal, and evidence is needed. Jhanak firmly declares that they will accompany Lalon, and everyone agrees, vowing to stand by his side as they leave.
