Kalikant asks him to trust his decision.
Harish tells Gita that he won’t let her go. Gita orders the guards to not allow anyone inside until Amol and she come out. The guard nods in agreement. Gita enters and finds Sapna sleeping on the sofa. She tries to wake her up. Amol watches her from behind a curtain. The guards prevent Harish from entering. Akash and Jaggu arrive. Amol throws a vase on the floor and steps in front of Gita, threatening to shoot Sapna. Gita tells him what kind of father he is. Amol responds that he loves Sapna and also loved her mother, whom he killed. He says that today he will kill Sapna as well and demands that she write a confession. He insists she writes that she had an affair with Harish Chitta and bore a daughter with him. He wants her to acknowledge that everything Amol did to her was because of this affair, and that he was not wrong. He demands she accepts responsibility for emotionally tormenting him. Akash tells Jaggu they need to figure out how to get inside. Amol continues, demanding that Gita write that her daughter, Sapna, discovered that her mother was a characterless woman and can no longer face her. Gita refuses to write it. He threatens to change the story, saying that the wife had an affair with Chitta, and the father killed his daughter out of anger. He says goodbye to Sapna. Gita relents and begins writing. Amol insists she also write that she couldn’t bear the complicated life and would use her husband’s service revolver to commit suicide. Gita asks, “What?” Amol repeats that he is offering her release today, telling her to remember her illegitimate daughter and lover who made her impure and sent her to him. He says Harish will be blamed, and he will get a clean slate. He prepares to shoot when Harish throws a vase at his hand. Akash and Jaggu hear the commotion, realizing Harish has entered the house.
Harish and Amol fight. Harish beats Amol. Gita tells Harish not to take matters into his own hands, saying they need proof and to get Sapna out of there. Amol threatens to kill them both. He grabs a gun and points it at Harish’s forehead. Sapna awakens, seeing her mother and Harish, and is startled to see them facing Amol with the gun. A shot rings out. Jaggu, Akash, and the guards rush inside. Amol is shot and collapses. Sapna screams, “Papa!” Gita calls out to Amol, trying to revive him with CPR. Harish tells Gita that he didn’t shoot, but someone else must have. Jaggu asks Harish what he has done. Harish insists he didn’t shoot. Sapna accuses him of killing her father, and Jaggu defends him, saying Baba couldn’t have done this. Sapna insists that she saw Harish kill Amol. Harish denies being a murderer. Akash discovers someone hiding behind the curtain and moves toward it.
