Jagriti 2nd January 2025 Written Episode Update
The episode begins with Jagriti asking Gita why she asked her to call Sarkar to the basti. Gita asks her to trust her and says that she will soon understand why she did this. She adds that for now, it seems that her friend needs her. Jagriti sees Akash crying and asks him why he is upset. Akash replies that she has won. She asks if he’s not happy. Akash says these are tears of joy and mentions that she spoke so bravely and from the heart. He tells her that he is proud to be her friend. Jagriti wipes his tears and says she couldn’t have done this alone, that it was because of him being with her. She thanks him. Akash tells her not to thank him. He explains that she has won the scholarship, and everything will be taken care of, including her school fees, books, and uniform. He encourages her to go and tell Gita that she is her daughter. Gita is talking to someone on the phone. Jaggu looks at Gita and tells Akash that she will not tell her yet. She says that one day, people will feel proud to be Chitta and stop thinking of them as mere entertainment. She adds that only when people see them as equals, will she call Gita her mother, so as not to diminish her respect. Akash smiles.
Kachori talks about Jaggu’s essay in the basti, where she wrote that she is a Chitta. She mentions that their ancestors fought the British. Bindi asks Jaggu if their ancestors fought the British, to which Jaggu replies that they did, but we have forgotten about it. She explains that rather than feeling proud of them, we have neglected their deeds. She recalls Dadda’s words about remembering both the mistakes and the goodness of the past so we don’t repeat the same mistakes in the future. She emphasizes that if we remember our history, the way to the future will be clearer. Kachori announces that the first prize goes to Jaggu Chitta. Everyone claps for her. Ballu enters Harish’s house and searches for the evidence against Kalikant. Nanda praises Jaggu for her achievements and says that she has gained the respect of many. The Minister and Sarkar will attend the function, making it a moment of great pride. Durjan warns that happiness always brings trouble. He says this is the calm before the storm, and that Sarkar doesn’t allow contact with the outside world, so it’s unusual for him to agree to attend with the Minister.
Inspector Singh advises Kalikant not to go to the basti. Kalindi questions how he can be so sure, but Kalikant reassures her, claiming he is a lion who never gets trapped but instead hunts his enemies. He laughs and says he will win the election, become the Minister, and rule like the king of the jungle. Ballu arrives and gives Kalikant a blue cover. Kalikant checks it and finds it contains trash. He gets angry. Jaggu asks Harish about the proof, and he shows it hidden in the pillow, explaining he knew Ballu would come for it. He remembers switching it. Kalikant pushes Ballu angrily, and Kalindi tries to calm him down. Ganga sees Kalindi with Kalikant and gets upset. Akash notices her distress. Kalikant burns the trash, smirking. Harish scolds Jaggu for not telling him about the file, concerned for her and Gita’s safety. Jaggu asks why he didn’t stop Gita from going. She mentions SP Amol as a bad guy. Harish defends his actions, saying he did it to protect them and assures her that everything he did was for their good. Jaggu hugs him.
Amol asks Sapna about her mood and tells her that whatever her father does is for her benefit. Gita enters and asks Sapna why she came to the guest house and insists that she should come home. Sapna refuses, saying she wants to spend time with her father and doesn’t want a lecture about her behavior. Gita says Nani and Nanu are worried, and tomorrow morning she has school. Sapna still refuses to go. Amol tells Gita to let him be with his daughter and asks if she has chosen her side, teaming up with the Chitta girl. Sapna asks if Gita is deceiving her father and siding with Jaggu. Gita replies that Sapna will understand this word one day and adds that she owes her life to the Chitta girl.
Akash tries to convince Ganga to let him go to the basti for the function. Ganga refuses, but Suraj tells Sapna to go to the basti and claim her rights. He points out that Jaggu has won a prize, too, so what makes her different from the Chitta girl? He insists that she go, and Sapna agrees. Akash tells Ganga he wants to witness Jagriti’s victory firsthand. Ganga permits him but warns him not to argue with Kalikant. Akash thanks her.
Kalikant orders Ballu to burn the basti down. Ballu is shocked, and so is Kalindi. Ballu asks where the people of the basti will go, but Kalikant insists that a new basti will be set up, and he will make Ballu the new owner. However, he orders that Gita, Harish, and Jaggu must die and their bodies be thrown into the Ganga. He says that only then will he establish the new basti. Ballu asks about the other people in the basti. Kalikant replies that he will save whoever he wants, and God will save those he chooses, but even God cannot save the lives of those three.
