Jagriti 17th October 2024 Written Episode Update
The episode begins with Jaggu falling in the jungle, causing a coin to slip from her hand. She searches for the coin, saying that Baba mentioned they should not disturb jungle animals at night, but insists they are all her friends. She discovers Chiku with the coin in his mouth, feeling delighted to see him and the coin. Jaggu expresses her relief, saying she thought Golu had killed Chiku, and tells him to go, as she needs to return to the basti. She leaves Chikumal on the ground.
Kalikant inquires with Gayatri if she instructed that Chitta girl to return to her basti. Gayatri confirms she did. Kalikant expresses his confusion about her decision. Gayatri explains it is to maintain the divide between the basti and haveli. She reminds him how he has made the Chittas aware of their worth, thwarting their dreams of education, while keeping Avdesh Solanki under control. She believes after he cuts people down, he will feel relieved. Gayatri insists that the Chitta girl should go home every night to sing praises of his generosity, ensuring the haveli is rid of her presence at night. Kalikant agrees to her wishes, stating he wants the Chitta girl to be there daily for work. He tells Gayatri that she knows his intentions well. Akash is pleased with this development.
Jaggu arrives at the basti. Bindi is seen breaking Harish’s wheelchair with an axe but stops when she sees Jaggu and hugs her. The Chittas gossip about whether she ran away and returned. Jaggu questions Bindi about destroying the wheelchair, as she had put so much effort into making it. Bindi explains it was troubling Jaggu’s father. Jaggu approaches Durjan and requests to see Baba. Durjan asks Jaggu what she thinks would happen if she caused trouble for them. He warns her to leave before the basti incurs Sarkar’s wrath. Jaggu insists she didn’t come of her own accord; Badi Malkin said she could come to the basti. Nanda urges her not to lie and to feel sympathy for them. Ballu and his wife reprimand her, telling her to return. Durjan insists she should go and holds her hand tightly. Jaggu pleads with him to listen and reveals the coin. She explains she earned it by winning a challenge. Durjan looks at the coin and places it on his eyes and head. Jaggu recalls Gayatri’s words. The others are shocked and sit down. Jaggu asks Durjan if he now believes she didn’t elope from the haveli. She turns to Harish, questioning why Bindi Mausi broke the wheelchair she painstakingly crafted. Harish responds that Bindi Mausi loves her deeply, and that love motivated her actions, as she doesn’t want Jaggu to leave.
Bindi asserts that she won’t let anyone take Jaggu away. Jaggu declares her intention to return to the haveli, as she received permission rather than freedom. She promises to rebuild the wheelchair and ensure Harish can use it again. Harish encourages Bindi to recognize Jaggu’s resilience. Bindi urges Jaggu to cease her talk of education. Kachori arrives, hugging Jaggu and claiming to be her true friend. Jaggu admits she has missed Kachori as well. The two run outside together. Bindi instructs them to apply haldi lep on their hands.
Kachori informs Jaggu that Golu and his friends claimed she would die in the haveli and never return to the basti. Bindi calls out to Jaggu. Jaggu insists she is not speaking to her. The two girls run away, with Golu and his friends following closely, trying to eavesdrop on them. Kachori asks Jaggu about the haveli and if it is beautiful. Jaggu describes it as a golden cage, noticing Golu eavesdropping. She elaborates that it resembles a golden Lanka, mentioning the cold storage box, grinder, and separate tables for meals, like Rajas would have. She adds that the bed is incredibly soft, making her think of Chiku. Jaggu describes the almira as large enough to hold all their belongings, and the cowshed as enormous. Golu is surprised by her descriptions. Kachori and Jaggu share a warm hug.
