The episode starts with Anupama thanking Meenu for treating Anuj, saying she is among the few who are truly hers. Meenu, a clinical psychologist, says it’s her duty to treat him and explains that Aadhya’s absence has put him in deep trauma. She says Anuj’s world revolved around Aadhya, and he is finding it very hard to move on. Meenu adds that until his heart heals, his mind won’t heal. Anupama asks what to do. Meenu says they must accept the problem and asks if Anupama is ready to face the truth. Anupama asks what truth. Meenu reveals that Anuj didn’t lose his memory; he just wants to forget everything except Aadhya. She says it’s a long battle. Anupama says she will fight. Meenu wants to observe Anuj’s behavior. Bala says her uncle will not let her treat Anuj. Devika says he will create a big drama. Meenu confidently says she will handle it as she is a doctor. Anupama gets hopeful.

As Meenu steps out, she almost falls but Sagar holds her hand and apologizes. Meenu thanks him for saving her. She then enters the Shah house, reminding herself not to be scared as a doctor.

Devika makes Anuj taste a biscuit and tells him that Anupama believes Aadhya is alive. She says her belief made her believe in her own belief. She tells Anuj that God keeps bringing them together, and once he finds Aadhya, they can start a new life. Anuj blames Anupama for Aadhya’s death. Devika asks him not to blame Anupama and says Anuj hasn’t even inquired about her. She tells him that when he had an accident, Anupama also had a major accident, and her leg is still not fine. She can’t walk much without pain and can’t afford the operation. Dance was her passion, but she left dancing because of her injury. Devika adds that Anupama is emotionally and financially broken but still takes care of Asha Bhavan and searches for Aadhya. She tells Anuj that Anupama needs him and is still the same woman he came from America for. The song “Chaha Hai” plays. Anupama enters and says she is not asking for love but not to hate her. She says she can live without his love but not with his hatred. Anuj gets up.

Meenu enters the Shah house. Baa starts scolding her for losing her intelligence at the Russian airport. Baa says Anupama is her enemy and has taken her husband away. Meenu says Anupama is not their enemy, but they are her enemies. Baa says she used to call Rakhi a snake, but Anupama is even worse. Meenu insists that as a doctor, she can’t forget the oath she took during her MBBS. Vanraj gets angry. Meenu says she saw Anuj at the temple and requested to take on his case, but Anupama was hesitant. She tells them that Mami still makes efforts to improve things, but she can’t say the same for the Shahs. Toshu asks if she is a doctor or Anupama’s lawyer.

Anupama tells Indra and Nandita that they need to take more tiffin orders and will ask customers to label their tiffins with their names. Indra gets a message and shares her happiness with Anupama and Nandita, saying her son is coming from London to take her back. Anupama reminds her how he had thrown her out of the house. Indra says she has forgiven him and tells them her heart is with her son and family. Nandita says she can’t believe he has changed. Anupama worries that Indra’s heart might get broken again.

Anuj finds the chits Devika has hung on the mirror. He thinks Anupama is a good mother and loved Aadhya more than he did. He recalls how Anupama asked him to promise to stay away from Aadhya when she found out about Aadhya’s feelings. He thinks of the proofs that made him believe Aadhya is no more. He imagines Aadhya asking him to find her, wondering how he can believe she is dead. Anuj decides to search for her, realizing Anupama might be right that Aadhya is alive. Anupama lights a diya and covers it with a bowl, saying it is a remedy to burn away bad news.

Precap: Anupama falls, and Anuj catches her, taking her to her room. Anupama asks Anuj what Ankush and Barkha told him. Anuj goes outside to the electricity junction box, imagining Aadhya there.
