Anupama 2nd December 2024 Written Update
The episode begins with Anupama asking Baa, earlier when your knees would hurt, I used to apply oil and massage them, and now I ask you, who massages your legs all night when you’re in pain? Who makes salad, soup, and juice repeatedly for Ishu? She asks who makes fashionable handmade earrings for the girls, who helps Kinjal in the kitchen every morning so she doesn’t get late for office, and who does Toshu ask to make tea when he has a headache? Who makes hot chocolate for Ansh while he works at night, and who takes care of you all? She asks Dolly who gives you medicine on time. She asks who takes care of Babu ji’s medicines, specs, and hearing aid in this house. She expresses her disgust and says you claim Mahi doesn’t do anything, but she does everything, and this is my family, and I want to do for them. She says I ask her not to, but she does. You think she doesn’t do anything because she doesn’t take a salary, but if you all wanted to give her a salary, you wouldn’t be able to afford it. She says whatever Mahi has done for me, you all couldn’t do for me, and don’t deserve to do it. She says this girl has filled the emptiness after Choti left; one daughter became the pain, and the other became the ointment. She says if Mahi weren’t here, I would have been completely broken. She says whatever she has done for me, I can never repay her in this lifetime. She says I didn’t do her a favor by becoming her mother, but she has done me a favor by becoming my daughter, and I can never return that favor in any of my lifetimes. Mahi hugs her. Anupama says if I could give my life for Mahi, it wouldn’t be enough, and says I would do it happily. Mahi and Anupama share a hug.
Rahi cries and claps, saying classic. She says today your true feelings came out. You talk about Rahi all the time, but you have Mahi in your heart. Anupama replies that a mother’s heart isn’t small enough to hold only one child. Rahi asks her to choose between the two daughters, saying, “Rahi or Mahi.” Baa asks Anupama to answer. Pakhi asks her to say. Rahi insists on knowing who she would choose, and asks her to say Rahi or Mahi. She says this one letter difference will change everything. Everyone asks Anupama to choose. Anupama places her hand on her ears. Rahi insists, asking her to choose between her adopted daughter and her raised daughter. Anupama shocks everyone by saying Mahi. Mahi gets emotional. Rahi says, “I knew it, yet I asked you.” She says, “You have chosen others over me and will never choose me.” She adds that Anupama has never chosen Choti, Aadhya, or Rahi, and never will in any of her lifetimes.
Anupama asks her to stop and says, “You are my daughter, and I love you deeply.” She says when you left, I lost my daughter, and Mahi lost her mother. She explains how Mahi used to take care of her, feeding her, hugging her, and calling her Anudi. She says no one can take Mahi’s place in her heart, and likewise, no one can take Rahi’s place either. Rahi says enough, and says until she returns the money, she will stay, but after that, she will leave, and then Anupama can stay happily with Mahi. Anupama asks Rahi to calm her mind, explaining that one wrong decision can cause a lifetime of regret. She walks away, leaving Mahi and Rahi to look at each other.
Later that night, Prem plays the flute. Anupama looks at him and smiles. Rahi hears the flute and Anupama says, “Prem has the same pain in his flute as Anuj had.” Rahi approaches Prem and asks him to play the flute. Prem replies, “Boss orders work, not music.” Rahi says it’s a request, mentioning that her father used to play the flute the same way. She tells him that when she heard his music, it reminded her of her father. Prem asks what’s wrong with her. Rahi admits that it’s difficult to handle her, but thanks him for doing so. She says when her so-called mother couldn’t understand her, how could he? Prem advises her to befriend her mother. Rahi acknowledges that she knows Prem is upset with her for changing the name of Anu ki rasoi, but assures him it won’t be permanent, saying that once she returns the money, she will leave. Prem asks why she wants to leave. Rahi says everyone here is selfish. Prem wipes her tears and asks if she is befriending him for her own benefit. Rahi asks him to be her friend. He agrees, and they shake hands. A peacock feather falls on their hands, and Prem plays the flute as Rahi listens, admiring the music. She glances at him. Mahi sees Rahi resting her head on Prem’s shoulder and feels jealous. The song “Hum mile ya na mile” plays.
Pari and Ishu call Ansh and ask him to come down, saying thieves have come. Ansh rushes down holding a stick and asks where the thieves are. They all shout, wishing him a happy birthday. Ansh is surprised and asks who wishes like this. He seeks Baa’s blessings and has a group hug with them. Pari says if they had called him casually, he wouldn’t have come. Rahi and Prem also wish him a happy birthday. Ansh thanks Prem and hugs Rahi. He then asks where Anu Maa is. Anupama enters, wishing him a happy birthday. Ansh notices her holding a luggage trolley and asks where she’s going. She says she’ll tell him, but first, he should cut the cake. Ansh cuts the cake and shares it with everyone. He again asks Anupama where she’s going. She replies that she has some work and will tell them after returning. She tells Ansh to eat all his favorite items, which she has prepared and kept in the fridge.
Rahi asks if Anupama is leaving the house and running away. Anupama reassures them she will return and asks them not to turn the house into a battleground. Mahi says she will keep them informed. Anupama asks them to dance and enjoy but not to fight. She thinks she cannot tell them where she’s going. Prem offers to drop her off. She prays to Dwarkadeesh, saying, “You’ve called me back to Dwarka, but this time, I’m worried.” As Anupama steps out of the house, the lights flicker, and a bulb bursts. Baa asks what happened. Ansh says it’s just an electricity fluctuation.
Anupama arrives at the cloud kitchen and asks Janki behen to stay with Rahi and help her with the work. She asks her to buy a few things and take care of things. Rahi enters and tells Anupama that she doesn’t have the habit of being great, but she has the illness instead. Anupama looks on, silently.
