Anupama 27th September 2024 Written Update
The episode starts with Anupama receiving a contract letter. She stops the courier guy, gives him sweets, and thanks him. Anuj, smiling, says, “You had lost hope, but I hadn’t. I’m still here, sit and read it.” Anupama, looking at the letter, says, “You read it. It’s all in fancy English.” Anuj begins to read the contract aloud while everyone watches. Nandita comments, “When they love each other so much, why don’t they just get married?” Anupama listens to Anuj read, and when he finishes, she says, “Mr. Mehta’s son made this contract. I trust he did it right.”
Anuj stops her, saying, “I’ve trusted people before and suffered because of it. You need to read the contract yourself before signing.” He walks away, leaving Anupama thoughtful. She resolves to free him from all his pain and picks up the phone to call someone. Aadhya approaches Anuj, saying she’s happy to see how patiently he waits for Anupama despite everything. Anuj, with a gentle smile, says, “I’m trying to convince her. She’s scared of hurting us again, burdened by responsibility. But I’m not giving up.” Aadhya hugs him as he reassures her, “I’ll wait for her as long as it takes.”
Later, Anupama reads through the contract while Anuj watches her from afar. She blushes, smiling to herself. Meanwhile, Sagar is anxious, wondering where Baa and Dolly took Meenu, as he wasn’t able to follow them. Suddenly, Toshu and Pakhi enter, dancing and singing. Dolly, Baa, and Meenu follow behind, but Meenu looks sad. Dolly announces that she’s fixed Meenu’s marriage. Baa adds, “The groom is a doctor from a wealthy family.” Dimpy looks pleased, but Sagar is shocked.
Anupama, sensing something’s wrong, asks Meenu, “Did anyone force you into this?” Meenu, without looking at her, replies, “No, it’s my decision. Sagar and I aren’t suitable for each other.” Dolly sternly adds, “No one should provoke her now.” Anupama, not convinced, asks, “What changed that made you agree to marry a stranger?” Meenu, growing cold, says, “I don’t owe anyone an explanation. I’m doing this for myself.” Anupama offers to help her pack. Toshu and Pakhi are excited about moving to the big house with the new family, talking about how it will improve their social status. Baa and the others go to pack, leaving Anupama feeling uneasy.
Back in the room, Sagar is in tears, devastated by the situation. Anupama prays for guidance, and Meenu, alone in her room, also cries, feeling torn. Meanwhile, Baa and Babuji argue over Meenu and Sagar’s situation. Babuji suggests that they should support the young couple, but Baa worries about Dolly’s reaction if things fall apart. Anupama, distressed, confides in Anuj, who tells her to trust in God and remain hopeful.
Toshu and Pakhi, still caught up in their excitement, discuss how their new in-laws might invest in Toshu’s startup or help Pakhi climb the social ladder. Pakhi, eager for the change, says, “I just want to make rich friends and party.” Just then, someone notices that Meenu has gone missing from her room. Alarmed, everyone begins searching. Pakhi jokes, “Maybe she ran off with Sagar!” But Dolly, frantic, accuses Anupama, “Where’s my daughter? Did you encourage them to elope?” Anuj steps in, calming Dolly down, saying they’re all worried for Sagar too.
At that moment, Meenu and Sagar enter, wearing garlands. They announce that they’ve gotten married. Everyone is shocked. Meenu explains, “We didn’t have any other option. We had to marry without your blessings.” Toshu, furious, throws a glass at Sagar, but Meenu catches it and throws it back, saying, “I won’t tolerate anyone disrespecting my husband.” Sagar firmly adds, “And I won’t allow anyone to insult my wife.”
Dolly, horrified, orders Meenu to take off her garland, sindoor, and mangalsutra, insisting, “This isn’t a real marriage without the family’s consent.” She tries to wipe off Meenu’s sindoor, but Anupama intervenes. “It’s a sin to wipe off a woman’s sindoor,” she says. “You can scold them, but don’t do this.” She turns to Toshu and Pakhi, reminding them that they too eloped and got married.
Meenu, her voice shaking with frustration, says, “We didn’t want to marry like this. You didn’t even ask me if I wanted to marry the doctor. You left us no choice.” Baa, defensive, accuses Meenu of disrespecting her mother, but Meenu stands firm. Dolly, seething, blames Anupama for the whole situation, saying, “This is all because of you and Anuj. They followed your example.”
Aadhya and Pakhi get into an argument, with Aadhya scolding Pakhi for her disrespect. Pakhi, enraged, raises her hand to slap Aadhya, but Anuj intervenes, sternly warning her, “Don’t you dare raise your hand on any child.” He then gently tells Aadhya not to interfere in adult matters.
Sagar, looking at Anupama, asks, “Won’t you welcome your new daughter-in-law?” Meenu, with tears in her eyes, asks, “Do you think we did the wrong thing?” Anupama, with a calm yet stern expression, replies, “Love isn’t wrong, but what you did was. You could have come to us, but instead, you chose to elope.”
She then addresses Meenu, “Your mother made a mistake by not consulting you, but in return, you’ve done the same to her. Your actions, driven by love, have caused unnecessary pain. Your mother isn’t your enemy, she just wants the best for you.”
Sagar, trying to defend their decision, starts to speak, but Anupama stops him, saying, “Not now.”
