Anupama

Anupama 22nd September 2024 Written Update

The episode begins with Anuj watching Anupama play badminton in the park. As the song *Dhadkan* plays, Anuj admires her. Meanwhile, Meenu meets Sagar in the park and explains that she couldn’t come earlier because Baa had given her work to do. Sagar reassures her, saying he understands and that others, including Anudi, will understand too. Just then, a ball hits Meenu in the face, and Sagar rushes to comfort her. Anuj continues watching Anupama, trying to flirt with her. He approaches and says, “I love you, Anu…” though Anupama appears hesitant. He hugs her, and after a moment, she hugs him back. Anuj spots Sagar and Meenu together and wonders if he’s seeing things correctly, thinking to himself whether Anupama knows about them. He asks Anupama to come along, and they leave on the bike after noticing Sagar and Meenu hugging each other.

Meanwhile, Pakhi, in tears, complains that her legs are aching, making it difficult for her to wash the dishes. Toshu insists she must do it. Pakhi, in pain, pleads for a break. The manager arrives and scolds them for stopping work again. Pakhi asks for a 15-minute break, promising to complete all the tasks afterward. Toshu agrees, saying they will finish everything after the break. The manager warns that if they take even an extra minute, they will also have to clean the bathrooms. Toshu, defeated, sits down, while Pakhi continues to cry and hugs him.

Anuj and Anupama return home, where Indra teases them. As Sagar enters, he accidentally bumps into Anuj. Anuj advises him to be careful, warning that small mistakes can lead to big consequences. Meanwhile, Dimpy and Nandita have a confrontation in the kitchen. Dimpy tells Nandita to move out of her way, but Nandita responds that she isn’t in her way, suggesting that Dimpy is standing in her own path to happiness. The argument escalates, and Dimpy accuses Nandita of trying to woo her husband. Nandita calmly replies, “You’ve heard of the law of attraction, haven’t you? Don’t repeat something so much that it becomes true.” Dimpy is left speechless.

Later, Anuj approaches Sagar, who admits that Anuj scared him earlier. Anuj asks if he has anything to say, and Sagar confesses that he and Meenu are in love but feel that their different social statuses are standing in the way. Anuj advises him to share the truth with Anupama, reminding him that obstacles in love can only be overcome if they’re faced together. Sagar agrees, saying that they plan to tell Anupama today. Anuj encourages him, adding that if they tell the truth, he will support them. Sagar, relieved, hugs him.

Meanwhile, Baa brings tea to Anupama and, despite her tough exterior, admits that Babuji may not understand. She clarifies that she’s not asking Anupama to bring Toshu and Pakhi back, but… Anupama interrupts, assuring Baa that they are fine, recounting how she had seen them at a hotel where she was delivering pickles and papads.

Just then, Mahi arrives and hands Anupama a box. Inside, Anupama finds a hairband and a note from Anuj, which makes her smile. She happily puts on the hairband.

Anupama soon rushes outside, calling for Anuj, distressed as she explains that the money they earned from the hotel got soaked because she hadn’t properly closed the water bottle. Panicking, she wonders how they will now pay for the groceries she had taken on credit. Anuj reassures her, saying that the money can be dried, and encourages her to stay calm and think.

Meanwhile, Toshu and Pakhi emerge from the hotel, exhausted. Toshu, struggling to walk, tells Pakhi he feels faint, but Pakhi insists she can’t hold him if he collapses. He apologizes, saying his body has given out from the work. Pakhi regrets not thinking of pawning her earrings earlier, complaining that they now have so much work ahead. Toshu, surprised, says he didn’t know the earrings were gold. Pakhi explains they’re valuable and that they’ll need the money to pay the manager and retrieve her earrings. Toshu reflects on how difficult it is to earn money, and both admit they are exhausted. Just then, they see their friends leaving the hotel. Toshu and Pakhi hide, overhearing their friends mock them for being thrown out of their house. Toshu and Pakhi are disillusioned, realizing the true nature of their so-called friends.

At home, Anuj, Kinjal, and Titu work together to dry the soaked money. Anuj proudly shows Anupama that the money looks as good as new. Anupama, impressed, tells Anuj that he found a perfect solution, to which they all laugh and joke that they learned this from her. Anupama smiles, feeling lighter. Meanwhile, Meenu asks Sagar if they should talk to Mami, but Sagar suggests they wait until everyone is asleep.

Elsewhere, Pakhi, disheartened, asks Toshu what they should do next. Toshu suggests they return to Asha Bhavan, where at least they were given food and a place to sleep, even if the conditions weren’t ideal. Pakhi agrees, saying that despite the simple food and cotton mattresses, they were treated with kindness. Toshu adds that their friends were selfish and uncaring, unlike the people at Asha Bhavan. With no other options, they decide to head back, but Pakhi wonders how they will get in, knowing that Anupama won’t let them enter.

Meanwhile, the kids at Asha Bhavan give each other head massages and help apply oil to each other’s hair. Aadhya, who has been quiet, mentions that she will be starting school in the next session and confesses that she now misses it, even though she didn’t want to go earlier. Anuj overhears this and, feeling determined, calls Mr. Mehta. He tells Mehta that he’s willing to work as an assistant, saying he needs the job for Anu and Aadhya. Anupama offers to help with Aadhya’s school fees, but Anuj insists that the money is for paying Asha Bhavan’s taxes. Anupama, touched by his gesture, assures him that they have more orders coming in and will find a way to balance everything. Anuj, however, remains focused, saying the taxes must be paid first, and after that, they will enroll Aadhya in school.
