Anupama

Anupama 18th September 2024 Written Update

The episode begins with Anuj informing everyone that the builder has sent his men. The goons enter the Shah’s house and start throwing furniture and belongings outside. Baa, Toshu, and others try to stop them, but their efforts are in vain. As the broken chair handle is about to hit Anupama, Anuj intervenes, catching it in time. Baa cries as their belongings are thrown out onto the street. When the goons disrespectfully toss out food tiffin, Anupama shouts, asking them to respect food, but they ignore her. Anuj manages to catch it just before it falls. The goons continue to break the furniture and eventually lock the house, forcing the Shah family to leave.

Anupama, deeply affected, asks the men to be mindful of the elders. She rushes to Baa and Babu ji, helping them sit on the stairs. Anuj and the others bring them water, trying to comfort them. Baa, devastated, laments that in just one hour, they’ve been thrown from their palace to the streets and wonders where they will go. Anuj suggests Asha Bhavan as a temporary shelter. Indra nods in agreement, and Nandita adds that while there isn’t much space, they will manage. Bala says that when the heart has space, everything else can be adjusted. Kinjal, however, feels uncomfortable causing trouble for the Asha Bhavan residents and initially refuses the offer.

Anupama, concerned about the children, insists that they shouldn’t suffer for the mistakes of adults. She reminds Baa that it will soon get dark and urges them to come inside. Anuj asks for Titu, but Dimpy informs them that he had gone out for some work. Toshu, stubborn as ever, refuses to go to Asha Bhavan, saying it’s beneath him. Pakhi suggests they stay at a hotel instead. Frustrated, Anupama mocks their attitude, telling Dolly they can stay with their nephew and niece in the “rajmahal” if they wish.

As heavy rain begins to pour, Pakhi grabs Toshu’s hand, and they both eventually run inside Asha Bhavan. Anupama shuts the door behind them and offers to make tea for everyone. In the kitchen, Anupama apologizes to the residents of Asha Bhavan for bringing the Shah family without asking their permission. Bala and Indra reassure her, stating that the Shah family is like family to them, and they won’t let them suffer. Anuj expresses that while he may have issues with some of the Shahs, he can’t stand to see Baa, Babu ji, Kinjal, and Meenu in such distress. Anupama thanks them, and Nandita promises to help them out. Anupama adds that they won’t stay long, and Anuj jokes that they should be prepared for some drama. Anupama sets a firm boundary, stating that anyone showing attitude can leave.

Inside, Pakhi complains about the lack of air conditioning, and Toshu grumbles about the heat, comparing the place to a tandoor. Dolly echoes their discomfort. Dimpy demands a separate room for herself, Titu, and Ansh. Kinjal, trying to be practical, reminds them that they are guests and must follow the rules. Toshu insists on having a room with an attached bathroom, refusing to use a common one. Anupama overhears their demands and throws a wet cloth at Pakhi, instructing them to cover themselves to cool down. She mocks their complaints, saying children know better than adults where to show tantrums.

Anupama reminds them to be grateful for the roof over their heads, pointing out that had they spent the night on the street, they wouldn’t even have a bathroom. She questions why they use common bathrooms at malls and parties but can’t do so here. She warns that if they can’t handle the situation, they are welcome to leave, and even offers to have Anuj open the door for them.

Nandita and Bala bring tea for everyone, but Dolly initially refuses, while Dimpy asks if it’s ginger tea. When Nandita adds that it also has cardamom, Dimpy takes the tea eagerly. Dolly, noticing Dimpy, finally accepts her cup.

Anupama then turns to Toshu, reminding him that these are the same people he once called poor and beggars, and today, they are the ones feeding him. She explains that at Asha Bhavan, everyone works to help others and manage household chores. Ordering people around isn’t acceptable here, except for the children, who are the only ones allowed to make demands. Even Aadhya does her own work, and she expects the same from everyone.

Baa, trying to help, offers to wash the utensils. Anupama tells her to enjoy her tea for now, and they will handle the chores together. Anuj, amused, teases Anupama, saying it’s been a while since she talked about work with Babu ji, adding that Anu used to say he should learn romance from them. Baa, sipping her tea, reflects on her past harsh words towards Anupama, feeling a tinge of regret. Anupama reassures her that tomorrow will bring a new beginning. Dimpy subtly encourages Dolly to drink her tea, and finally, Dolly takes a sip.
