Anupama 18th January 2025 Written Update
The episode begins with Anil encouraging Parag, telling him he is the best. Mita, feeling left out, asks if they will do anything or just praise him. Parag asks her to stay quiet, and she retorts, saying she will remain silent if that’s what Baa’s rule is. Her mother-in-law gives her a stern look, and she falls silent. Parag starts flying the kite, and his mother proudly says it is Parag’s kite. Anupama, meanwhile, helps a boy fly his kite. Khyati’s mother-in-law tells her to hold the thread roll and says a wife should know how to control her husband. Khyati holds the roll obediently. Parag cuts everyone’s kites, and his kite is the only one soaring high in the sky. Rahi notices Parag’s kite and urges Anupama to cut it. Anupama hesitates, saying it looks expensive, but Rahi insists. Khyati’s mother-in-law warns that a smaller kite is coming too close to Parag’s. Anil urges Parag to cut it before it cuts his kite. Prem, taking his phone out from the rice bag, thanks the shopkeeper and calls Rahi. Rahi picks up, telling him she is at Kothari’s house and showing him that Anupama is about to cut Parag’s kite. Prem asks whose kite it is, and Rahi replies she doesn’t know. Parag remembers his son Tinku asking him to cut the kites in the sky. He says, “Yes, Tinku,” and his mother suggests he call him if he misses him so much. Parag replies he didn’t go to him, and he won’t return just because of his words.
Anupama cuts Parag’s kite. Prem is shocked, and Parag stares at his kite, now in pieces. Anupama tells the boy his kite is still flying high in the sky. Parag holds the broken thread. Anupama says they should try to catch the falling kite. The guests comment that no one has ever cut Parag’s kite before, and now he’s been defeated by a small kite. Anupama tells the boy she will retrieve the kite for him. Parag steps in front of Anupama, and everyone gathers around. Rahi tells Prem she will call him later and ends the call. Prem runs toward them. The boy takes his kite, thanking Anupama, who responds with a warm welcome. The guest asks if she is the one who cut Parag’s kite. Anupama realizes her mistake and apologizes. The guy adds that no one could defeat Parag bhai until now, and another guy says she deserves a prize. Anupama politely refuses, stating she flew the kite for the boy’s happiness, and that is the greatest prize for her.
Parag stops her, asking Anil to give her money for her work but forbidding her food from being served to him. He instructs that the food be distributed to the staff and that he will order food from a five-star hotel. Gautam offers to send them away with money. Rahi grabs his finger and asks how dare he. Others intervene, asking Rahi to release his hand. Parag yells at Gautam, pulling him closer. Parag offers the money to Anupama, but she declines it, stating they do the kite competition for different reasons. She emphasizes that the happiness of the boy is the best prize for her. Janki behen praises Anupama for her answer. Anupama then brings up the food, telling Parag that they worked hard and stayed up all night to prepare it. She insists that no one has the right to insult the food and questions what wrong they did to deserve such treatment.
Parag retorts that her actions have crossed the line, beginning with insulting his mother on the road, damaging his car with her scooter, and her daughter entering his Jamai ji’s room. He says that while all mistakes can be forgiven, a mother’s insult is unforgivable. He orders Anupama to leave. Anupama refuses, responding that he hasn’t mentioned the real reason behind his anger. She tells him that if his true grievance was the issue between their mothers, they wouldn’t be making food together today. She points out that it’s his ego that’s hurt, not his mother’s honor, as a woman defeated him, and this is the real reason for his anger. Parag warns her not to test his patience, and she retorts not to test hers either. She states that after visiting Shrinath Ji, she prays that next time they see his darshan, it will be in the house of a poor person or in a shop. Rahi adds that they should never have to see Parag and his family again. They leave.
At home, Prem asks where Anupama and Rahi are. Mahi offers him tea, and Prem remarks that they should have returned by now. Toshu and the others speculate that Anupama might have received diamonds from the Kotharis. Anupama and Rahi enter, and everyone asks what they received in return. Rahi tells Toshu to be quiet. Anupama and Rahi explain everything about their visit to the Kotharis. Toshu tells them they should have endured the situation. Rahi snaps, asking if he would have endured it if they had called him a thief. Toshu accuses Rahi and Anupama of having big egos, blaming them for the conflict.
