Anupama 16th September 2024 Written Update
The episode begins with Anupama adjusting Anuj’s collar. Anuj gazes at her as she fixes his shirt button, reminiscing about the times when she used to stitch his shirt button. A romantic song, *Saari Raat*, plays in the background. Anuj imagines a romantic moment with her, but snaps back to reality when Anupama asks, “What happened?” Anuj, realizing it was just his imagination, says, “I’m getting late, I should leave.” Before he leaves, Anupama feeds him curd and sugar, wishing him well. Anuj smiles and says, “Everything will be fine, especially with my Anupama by my side.”
Meanwhile, Sagar, in his sleep, confesses his love for Meenu, saying that he didn’t mean to upset her and wanted to tell her sooner. Bala walks into the room, locks the door, and tells him to get up. He scolds Sagar for driving his auto all night. Sagar, feeling guilty, says that he can’t sleep properly because of it. Bala teases him for talking about Meenu in his sleep and tells him that society may not accept a relationship between someone rich and someone poor. But when Sagar says he can’t forget Meenu, Bala advises him to fight for his love and talk to Anupama about it.
On the other side, Dolly is cleaning Meenu’s hands, scolding her for doing unnecessary chores. She tells Meenu that her education and career are what matter most. Meenu asks, “What about my happiness?” Dolly sternly warns her that for boys like Sagar, girls like Meenu are nothing more than a lottery ticket. Meenu defends Sagar, explaining that he initially rejected her, and it was she who pursued him. Dolly angrily accuses Sagar of planning to live off her wealth, blaming Anupama for teaching him these tricks. Meenu, in disbelief, tells Dolly that Anupama had no idea she liked Sagar.
Just then, Kinjal enters and asks Meenu if she truly loves Sagar. Meenu affirms that she does. Kinjal advises her to talk to Anupama, stating that if Anupama supports her, half the battle will be won.
Elsewhere, Aadhya asks Mahi to bring her books from the Shah house so she can help her study. Mahi agrees and heads off. Anupama, meanwhile, is talking about how Choti used to care deeply for children at the orphanage and how she’s slowly returning to her old self. Indra consoles Anupama, saying everything will get better with time. Nandita nudges Anupama to say yes to Anuj. Bala interrupts, asking Anupama if she knows how to cook South Indian food since it’s their Onam festival the next day. Anupama promises to make banana halwa for him.
Later, Anuj texts Anupama, telling her that he’s about to enter his job interview. Anupama checks the time and decides to go to a nearby mall. Aadhya and Mahi wish her luck as she leaves.
During the interview, the interviewer is surprised to see someone of Anuj’s stature seeking a job. Anuj explains that despite his past success, he’s willing to start fresh and isn’t ashamed to ask for work. The interviewer brings up rumors about Anuj’s mental health and Ankush running the company now. Anuj corrects him, saying his brother is ruining the company, and that he plans to regain control. Despite Anuj’s qualifications, the interviewer refuses to hire him, fearing a power struggle.
Anuj leaves the interview disheartened and heads to a temple. There, he finds a paper rocket with the word “START” written on it. He looks around and sees Anupama smiling at him. She tells him she knew he’d be at the temple, and she too might have a job soon. Anuj’s spirits lift, and they walk together, with Anuj reciting poetry in his mind.
The next day, Bala is outside Asha Bhavan, ready for the Onam festival. He’s surprised to see everyone dressed in South Indian attire. He takes selfies with Indra and others, eagerly waiting for Anuj and Anupama to join them.
At the Shah house, Baa and Kinjal are also dressed for the festival. Baa worries about Toshu’s reaction, but Kinjal insists that they can’t stop living their lives. Baa reminds her not to make any hasty decisions. Kinjal responds firmly that she won’t be responsible for Toshu’s actions anymore, as men only change when they want to. The two women, along with the children, head to the festival.
Meanwhile, Anuj gets ready in front of a mirror, stylishly adjusting his glasses. He looks over at Anupama, who is fixing her hair. They silently admire each other. Anuj teases her, saying she looks beautiful, and they share a playful moment as they apply kajal behind each other’s ears to ward off the evil eye. Anuj compliments her again, and Anupama smiles, saying, “How can anyone look so handsome?” Aadhya calls them, and Anupama rushes off, but Anuj jokingly tells her that he’s willing to wait for her just like he always has.
