Jagriti 23rd September 2024 Written Episode Update
The episode starts with Durjan asking Jagriti if she wants her Baba’s treatment to proceed, suggesting that she must eat non-veg. Nanda insists that her father’s life depends on her decision. Mangla curses and scolds Jaggu. Bindi encourages Jaggu to agree for Harish’s sake. Reluctantly, Jaggu agrees to eat non-veg. Nanda instructs Vaid ji to administer medicine to Harish. Durjan laughs and lifts Jaggu, declaring they will celebrate with chicken, teetar betar, and rabbit for her.
Nanda brings Jaggu just as everything is cooked and served. Jaggu is seated on a peacock feather chair. Everyone watches. Mangla tells Harish that Dadda got his treatment done because Jaggu agreed to eat non-veg. Harish, shocked, runs out, recalling his promise to Gita. Nanda insists that today, Jaggu’s badki amma will feed her non-veg. She tries to force-feed chicken to Jagriti, but Jaggu keeps her mouth closed. Just then, Harish arrives and sits helplessly, recalling Gita’s words. Jaggu asks Harish if he is okay. Nanda retorts that her father is not fine, and if she doesn’t eat, he won’t get treated. With her eyes closed, Jaggu opens her mouth. Harish shouts at Jaggu not to eat non-veg, grabbing the chicken from Nanda’s hand and throwing it away. He hugs Jaggu and assures her that she doesn’t need to eat non-veg for his sake. Ballu urges Durjan to take action as both father and daughter are getting out of control. Durjan signals Ballu to remain silent, pleased to hear Harish’s words.
Jaggu starts coughing. Bindi tells Nanda that she warned that Jaggu couldn’t handle the smell. Harish declares that their identity is based on being non-veg eaters, but Jaggu is too young to be forced into this. He insists she should not be pressured into it and vows to find a way to support the community without compromising his daughter’s integrity. Mangla argues about how he’ll earn money since he can barely walk. Ballu supports Mangla, pointing out Harish’s inability to make demands while he is unwell. Harish, frustrated, says he will find a way to earn for the community. Jaggu expresses her preference for plain rice, while Mangla complains that Jaggu is taking her son away from her. Harish vows to help Jaggu eat what she likes.
Bindi arrives with milk to make kheer for Jaggu. Jaggu beams at the thought. Harish laments his unluckiness, realizing he never knew his daughter liked kheer. He prepares it and feeds her. She asks why they pray with an eyelash on their hands. Harish recalls Gita’s explanation and shares it with her. Jaggu makes a wish, hoping for her mother’s return. She mentions that Dadi said she caused her mother so much trouble that she died. Harish reassures her that this isn’t true and recalls her mother hugging her after she was born, though he remembers Gita was unconscious at that time. Jaggu then asks if her mother can come back.
