Mangal Lakshmi 17th September 2024 Written Episode Update
Scene 1
Adit prepares to leave for the office. A neighbor whispers, “He’s having an affair with a girl from his office. That’s why he’s always going there.” Another woman chimes in, “There’s a modern girl who visits him here; we’ve all seen them together.” Shanti pulls Kusum aside and says, “The whole neighborhood is talking about it. Everyone knows about the affair.” Mangal, overhearing, asks, “Who are you talking about?” The neighbor points to Vikram, Agarwal’s son, and says, “He’s cheating on his wife with a colleague.” Mangal sighs, “Poor Neha. A woman can tolerate a lot, but not cheating. She should leave him.” Another woman adds, “But what can she do? She doesn’t earn, and it’s not easy to leave your home.” Mangal nods, “You’re right. How will she ever trust her husband again? Trust is everything in a relationship. And the people who knew but didn’t tell her… they’re responsible too. Neha deserves to know the truth. She’ll be so heartbroken.” Kusum interrupts, “Mangal, you should go get ready.”
Meanwhile, Adit sneaks into the restroom, muttering to himself, “I should run from here.” He looks at the window, contemplating an escape. Shanti, however, tells Kusum, “I can’t lie to my daughter anymore. She deserves to know the truth.” She turns to Mangal, saying, “I need to talk to you.” Kusum urges her, “Don’t ruin Mangal’s life. Adit saved her life yesterday, and now they’re happily remarrying. Don’t disrupt that.” Shanti shakes her head, “I don’t trust Adit anymore. I won’t hide anything from Mangal again.” Kusum pleads, “Trust me. I convinced Adit to remarry Mangal. He’s changing, and Mangal is the only woman in his life.” Shanti retorts, “Do you even trust your son? He’s ruining my daughter’s life.” Kusum, with a heavy heart, responds, “You know I treat Mangal like my own daughter. I will fix this marriage. Adit is changing. Everything will be okay.” Just then, Gayatri enters and overhears their conversation.
Kusum prays for Mangal and Adit’s marriage, whispering, “Please, let Adit change. If Mangal finds out, everything will fall apart. They have two small children. Please save my family.” Gayatri, noticing Kusum’s worry, asks, “Is everything alright? You seem upset.” Kusum forces a smile, “Everything’s fine. Mangal and Adit are remarrying, and everyone is happy.” Gayatri looks unconvinced, “You seemed worried earlier. Shanti always causes trouble. You can share anything with me, you know that.” Kusum sighs, “It’s nothing, Gayatri. We all have our own family matters. You have yours, and I have mine.” Gayatri, feeling hurt, says, “It feels like there’s a distance between us now. We used to be so close.” Kusum reassures her, “You’re my sister, and nothing will ever change that.”
Scene 2
Adit sneaks over to Soumya’s house and finds her crying in a corner. “Please, go away,” she pleads. Adit responds, “Don’t say that. Please, just listen.” Soumya breaks down and hugs him, tears streaming down her face. Meanwhile, back at home, Gayatri tries to comfort Kusum. “I’m sorry if I upset you earlier. I care about you a lot,” she says, hugging her sister. Kusum, still distracted, asks, “What’s wrong? You seem worried.” Gayatri brushes it off, “I’m fine, just overthinking things. You have such a wonderful son and daughter-in-law. Don’t let small worries get in the way.” Kusum nods, feeling a bit better, “You’re right. I will always be here for you, no matter what.”
At Soumya’s house, she pushes Adit away. “You’ve been ignoring me, acting like everything is my fault,” she says bitterly. Adit, looking guilty, explains, “Amma is always keeping an eye on me, and there’s so much happening at home.” Soumya, confused, asks, “What’s happening at home?” Just then, Kusum calls Adit. He sighs, “I have to go home. Please, just hold on for a few more days.”
Scene 3
Back at the house, Kusum asks Akshar, “Where is Adit?” He shrugs, “I don’t know.” As Mangal enters, Karthik compliments her, “You look like Lakshmi’s younger sister!” Everyone laughs. Shanti asks, “Where’s Adit?” Kusum starts looking around the house, getting anxious. She checks the restroom door and knocks, “Adit, open the door!” Shanti sarcastically asks, “Did he run away?” Kusum replies, “He’s just taking a shower.” Mangal knocks, “Adit ji, please open the door.” Kusum then asks Karthik to break the door, but just as he’s about to, Adit opens it. “What’s going on here?” he asks. “Why is everyone making a fuss?” he chuckles. Kusum, relieved but still suspicious, says, “We were just worried.” Lakshmi notices a pair of outdoor shoes in the restroom and the open window, but before she can say anything, Kusum ushers everyone out.
The florist arrives with a basket of flowers, but hidden inside is Soumya. She whispers to herself, “I need to see what Adit is up to.” Meanwhile, Adit and Mangal head to the stage for the ceremony. Kusum proudly announces, “The bride and groom are here!” Soumya, hiding in the background, is shocked by what she sees.
