Mera Balam Thanedaar 7th September 2024 Written Update

The episode begins with Veer telling Bulbul that he loves Maa, Papa, Vayu, Vani, Vyom, Vishesh, Varnika, and… then pauses, saying he can’t remember any more names. Bulbul playfully threatens to beat him until he remembers the rest. Meanwhile, Dhristi watches them from a distance, thinking, “Laugh all you want now; soon, I won’t give you a reason to smile.” Vishesh catches Dhristi eavesdropping and accuses her of having no shame. Dhristi responds defiantly, saying, “I’m a virtuous wife; I don’t spy on my brother-in-law.” Vishesh, frustrated, laments, “I’ve fallen in my family’s eyes, my mother and daughter included. Why did you marry me?” Dhristi sarcastically tells him to remove her sandals, claiming that husbands may be irritating, but they elevate their wives’ status in society. She adds that if she were here for revenge on Bulbul like before, society would have labeled Bulbul with all sorts of names. Now, she declares, her revenge will come as the elder daughter-in-law. After demanding money from Vishesh and taking everything he has, she returns a single note and walks away with confidence. Vishesh feels humiliated and regrets not standing up to her, fearing what she might do next.

Sulakshana, worried, confides in Vardhan, expressing her concern about Dhristi’s return. Bulbul proposes a plan to confront their problem head-on, saying, “Our issue is that she attacks us, and we always defend ourselves. But that doesn’t mean we can’t strike back.” She lays out her plan, and everyone smiles. Vardhan, impressed, calls Bulbul his “bestest best bahu.”

Later, Dhristi suspiciously asks Sulakshana if someone is expected to visit. Bulbul announces that, indeed, someone is coming, and calls for the Pandits. She then tells Dhristi that, as the eldest daughter-in-law, it’s her responsibility to prepare food for the Pandits, Mahant ji, and the other guests. Dhristi is caught off guard and exclaims, “How am I supposed to do that in just 30 minutes?” Sulakshana praises Dhristi, reminding her that she had once prepared food for a large number of guests. Dhristi hesitates, but Vardhan insists that there should be no shortage of food. Bulbul offers to assist, but Dhristi reluctantly agrees to cook on her own. Vishesh expresses doubt, wondering how Dhristi will manage. Sulakshana remarks that Vishesh doesn’t believe in her abilities. Bulbul assures them all that Dhristi knows how to cook well.

Soon, the Pandit informs them that Mahant ji is unwell and cannot eat *makhana*. Bulbul acknowledges this, and Vardhan says it’s time to get started. Bulbul hands the ingredients to Dhristi, reminding her she only has 15 minutes left. Dhristi, overwhelmed, struggles to prepare everything. Vyom offers to help, but Dhristi asks him to retrieve a utensil from the rack. Vyom cheekily asks her to lift him so he can reach it. Dhristi, frustrated, says he can’t do it, but Vyom insists he will manage. In the process, he knocks over some glasses, causing more work for Dhristi. Vardhan arrives and comments on how Vyom has made her task even more difficult. Dhristi asks about the spices, and Vardhan informs her that she’ll have to grind them herself for the Brahmin feast. Vayu brings over a traditional *silbatta* (grinding stone) for her. Just then, Varnika shows up and offers to entertain Dhristi. Dhristi, annoyed, asks Varnika to help knead the dough instead. Varnika jokes that she’ll give it a try, but ends up pouring too much water into the dough. Dhristi scolds her, saying, “Who adds so much water to the dough?” Bulbul returns and urges Dhristi to hurry, taunting her that it seems she’s going to lose the challenge. Bulbul then receives a message and leaves with Varnika.

Bulbul meets Dr. Jain, who is disguised as a *sardar*. She warns him to be careful with his fake moustache. Sulakshana grows suspicious and asks Bulbul who the man is. Bulbul quickly lies, saying he’s a doctor, and offers to show him Vani’s room. Sulakshana hesitantly agrees but insists she’s seen him somewhere before. Once alone with Vani, Dr. Jain, whose real name is Siddhu, reveals himself. Vani hugs him tightly, asking if he’s going to leave her again. Siddhu reassures her that he won’t. Bulbul, smiling, tells Siddhu that he’s the only one who can help Vani recover and pleads with him not to betray her. Dr. Jain promises to begin treatment immediately. Bulbul leaves, feeling hopeful.

Meanwhile, Vayu informs Bulbul that everything is going according to plan. Kaveri offers to help Dhristi in the kitchen, but Sulakshana stops her, saying it’s not necessary. Veer then tells Bulbul that he’s going to meet the psychiatrist who has come to treat Vani. Bulbul, suddenly tense, becomes nervous.
