Jagriti 2nd December 2024 Written Episode Update
The episode begins with Harish calling Bindi. Bindi comes and says she’s on her way. Kachori and Jaggu are walking from the opposite direction and bump into Bindi. Harish’s phone slips from Bindi’s hand. Jaggu says, “This is your phone, how did it come to Bindi Mausi?” Harish replies that he was looking for it and asks where she found it. Bindi lies, saying she found it in the jungle and picked it up. Harish insists that he had kept the phone in the hut. Bindi asks, “Are you saying that I’ve stolen it and kept it with me?” Harish denies, saying, “When did I say that?” Just then, Mangla comes and asks where they’ve been all day, as she needs them to make food. Jaggu also asks Bindi where she’s been. Bindi says she will show them and takes Mangla to her sewing machine, explaining that she borrowed it from a friend to stitch her uniform. Jaggu hugs Bindi and calls her Bindi Maa. Harish reflects that Jaggu has worked hard to earn her right to education, and yet her father can’t even give her new clothes.
Amol displays photos of Gita and Harish on the projector screen. Gita asks him to stop. Sapna asks, “Why is Mamma with this man?” Amol says, “Your Mamma was romancing with him.” Gita denies it and tells Sapna that it isn’t true. Amol takes Sapna’s side, saying, “Don’t touch my daughter,” and accuses Gita of being a cheap woman. He says, “You were in the jungle with him, and you’ve given birth to his daughter.” Gita then grabs a gun from Amol’s uniform, shoots herself, and collapses onto Bindi. But then, it turns out to be Bindi’s dream. Bindi thinks that if something happens to Gita, she will never forgive herself.
Later, Jaggu is getting ready to go to school when Harish comes in with her school uniform and asks her to wear it. Jaggu is overjoyed and hugs him. She wears the uniform and comes out ready to go. Kachori says she looks like a rich kid. Bindi comes over, calls her a “city kid,” and applies kajal to her eyes. Harish recalls his promise to Gita.
Jaggu says she will seek blessings from Dadda and goes with Harish. Durjan is scolding Ballu for not being a good hunter, saying that Harish has brought many animals from the jungle and was rewarded well. Jaggu suddenly feels nauseous. She asks Harish if the uniform was bought with money earned from killing animals. Ballu mocks her, saying, “Didn’t you hear Dadda? Your Baba has killed animals, including their children, to buy your uniform.” Durjan tells him to stop, warning him not to hurt Jaggu’s feelings. Ballu says, “The red color of the uniform is the blood of animals your Baba has killed.” Harish explains that he doesn’t know any other work but this. Jaggu, upset, says she can’t wear the uniform as it has blood on it. Harish asks, “If you don’t wear it, how will you go to school?” Jaggu responds, “How would you feel if someone killed me?” and says she cannot accept the uniform as it’s a sin.
She goes to school wearing the uniform Bindi stitched for her. Suraj and the others laugh at her for looking like a joker. He sticks a paper on her back with the words, “I am a joker.” Akash comes to Jaggu’s defense. Suraj mocks Akash, saying, “A movie should be made about you, the savior of the joker.” He tries to hit Akash but ends up falling. The kids laugh. Jaggu helps Akash get up, and a boy suggests to Suraj that he should ask Jaggu about her clothes. Jaggu notices Gandhi Ji’s photo on the paper and remembers what Akash told her about him—how he lived simply while doing great things for the country. She tells everyone that if Gandhi Ji had cared about clothes, who would have freed us from the British?
Akash applauds, impressed by Jaggu. Some of the girls also clap, but stop when they see Suraj. The principal arrives and scolds Akash for hanging around with “Chitta” girl, warning that he might complain to Thakur Saheb. Akash leaves. The principal asks Jaggu if her father has arranged 5000 Rs for the fees, as otherwise, she cannot study. Jaggu says that arranging 100 Rs is hard enough, let alone 5000. Suraj tells his friend that the school fees are 1200, but because of the principal’s orders, he’s asking for more. The principal tells Jaggu to go and arrange the money, warning her not to come to school in such clothes again. He thinks Harish will find a way to pay 1200, but wonders how he’ll manage the 5000. He hopes Thakur Saheb will be pleased with his plan. Suraj then comments that if Sapna were still here, it would be more fun, but she’s leaving Mokshgarh with her mother. Jaggu overhears and wonders how she can go to her mother’s house.
